Dreamweaver versus Notepad [Text Editors]: The Web Dev Show Episode 1

Today we launch our new show “The Web Dev Show.” The weekly program, hosted by LearnToProgram Media content developer Andrew Snyder-Spak, will provide a discussion of different important aspects of web development.

This week’s show discusses a topic that many web developers take for granted: Text Editors. Do you prefer a simple text editor like Notepad or a more complex, fully featured text editor like Dreamweaver. Andrew will cover the pros and cons of both in this episode. As developers we spend almost all day using them but we rarely think about them. Simple text editors can be quick and easy– More complex text editors have many features to save you time and make life easier on the developer. Which type of text editor do you prefer? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Personally, I like to use Sublime Text 3 for creating websites. Dreamweaver tends to add stuff to the pages that usually messes up the code. With sublime text 3, it is more advanced than using a text editor like notepad.
