Testing Your Web Page on Multiple Browsers: The Web Dev Show Episode 10

Check out episode 10 of The Web Dev Show! The weekly program, hosted by LearnToProgram Media content developer Andrew Snyder-Spak, will provide a discussion of different important aspects of web development.

These days the number of different web enabled devices that your users might be accessing your website from is getting larger and larger. This causes an issue for us as web developers because we can’t be sure what type of device or browser our users will be using to view our website. Different browsers can interpret HTML slightly differently leading to an inconsistent experience for different users. Because of this, it is extremely important that we thoroughly test our pages on as many different browsers and setups as possible. The goal is to provide your users with a consistent viewing experience across all setups. If a user is familiar with how your site looks on their desktop running Google Chrome, they might get very frustrated if it looks differently when they try to access it from their laptop running Internet Explorer. Frustrated users are not likely to return, so this concept is very important.
