Episode 8 of The Web Dev Show is here! The weekly program, hosted by LearnToProgram Media content developer Andrew Snyder-Spak, will provide a discussion of different important aspects of web development.
Especially for new developers, getting the different elements of your web page aligned and positioned just right can take quite a bit of time as well as some guessing and checking. There are several different units of measurement available in CSS, from inches and centimeters to picas and pixels, each one can be used to move elements around and position things on your webpages. In this episode we will be going through these different units of measurement and taking a look at how they actually look onscreen in some examples.
We will also be going over the two main types of units, absolute and relative, and why each of them are useful at certain times. Having a good understanding of the units available, and their approximate size, really can save you a lot of time and help you to get much closer right off the bat.
