How to create a hyperlink to an external website. By an “external website” that means a website that is accross the internet such as google.com or yahoo.com. You create a hyperlink to an external website by using the <A> anchor tag. You must also add the “href” hypertext reference attribute to your <A> tag so that you can specify the full URL of the website that you would like to link to. It is very important that you have your full URL spelled perfectly or else your link will not be functional. Whatever you type between the opening and closing <A> tags is what will actually be displayed onscreen for the user to click on. Here’s an example of an external hyperlink to Google.com:
