Episode 9 of The Web Dev Show is here! The weekly program, hosted by LearnToProgram Media content developer Andrew Snyder-Spak, will provide a discussion of different important aspects of web development.
If you’re a computer programmer with technical background like me, it can be easy to focus on the code and functionality and then overlook the design and styling of your website. The truth of the matter is that the artistic side of web development is just as important, if not more important, than having wonderful content and a perfect layout. In this episode we will be taking a look at how to add some color to your website and make it more visually appealing. It’s important for any developer to have an understanding of how computers represent colors using hexadecimal values in an RGB format. There are tons of built-in colors that can be used in your CSS files, but we will also learn how to use hexadecimal values to create our own custom colors from scratch.
Once we understand how to create colors, the next step is to actually choose colors that will look nice for our site. We’ll see how we can use a color wheel to help you choose some complimentary colors that will go well together and help transform our website from a bland white eyesore, to a vibrant and appealing place to visit. If you are stuck with a plain looking website, this episode is for you!
